Scarlet is Home!
Scarlet is HOME!!!! We are so thrilled to be back home! There really is no place like it. Scarlet is back with her regular Peds DR. and has a home care nurse come once a week to draw her blood and other checks. It may be my imagination but she seems to be happier now that we are home, maybe it's because I am or because she's with her daddy again. She can't go out in public places until Sept when they will check immune function. Which also means that we really limit visitors, especially kids. We still can go on walks and be outside, we just have to be really careful exposing her to the sunlight. We went on a short walk yesterday and in order to take her out I have to put sunscreen on her. Not an easy thing to do with a 9 month old baby, darn near poked her eye trying to put some on her nose. For that reason, we will really limit being outside. But it gets a little suffocating sometimes staying in doors all the time, especially after having been stuck inside the 6 months in the hospital. So don't be surprised if you see us out walking the block when it isn't covered in snow!
Charlie's work sent Scarlet balloons on her first day home. They were so thoughtful! She had fun playing with them. They came with little play turtles which she loves playing with. Anyway, thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers!
