5th Wedding Anniversary

5 Years have gone by and it seems such a short time ago we were just getting married and starting a life together. We were married July 25th, 2003 on a Friday evening at Rocky Reach Dam.
My niece Josi was such a sweet flower girl.
Just before the "I do's".
All of my brothers and sisters came except one and for good reason. From L to R: Micah, Davi, Josh, me, Anni, Nelli, Jodi, and Tori
Charlie and his brothers, all except Erik who was on his mission. Brian, Michael, Sonny and Clayton

Bridesmaids : (L to R) Erin, Janey, Sandra (MoH), Jessica, Bailey, Amelia, and AnniGroomsmen and Ringbearer: Cody, Michael, Brian, Kyle (ringbearer), Aaron (BM) Clayton, Davi, and Sonny

Back to where it all began. Our anniversary this year landed on a Friday and we decided to have a family party where we were married. In this picture you can see the TV. We watched our wedding video for the first time ever. It was so fun to be able to see everything we missed with everything being so hectic.
Charlie's aunt Amy perusing the wedding album.
Charlie working hard at the grill.
Scarlet and cousin Dorian playing in the field where we were married.

We danced again to our song,"Let me be your wings" from Thumbelina. Dorian and her daddy are dancing too, so cute.

Pioneer Picnic in Bothell

Apparently every year Charlie's Dad's Mom's family gets together as sort of a reunion thing in Seattle. I was visiting my parent's and needed some medicine for Scarlet so we drove up to Bothell to get it from Gramma and Grandpa and stayed for a little while. It was fun seeing the Ormbrek families. I wish we could have been there longer, but it didn't work out that way. Scarlet did finally get to meet her great aunt Diane which was a lot of fun.
Here is Scarlet with her soon to be Aunt Carly. Scarlet loves her, she's like a little mommy. Hopefully Scarlet will be well enough to take part in Davi and Carly's wedding this fall.
She will be such a sweet little flower girl.

An afternoon at Steilacoom Park

I got to spend a few days with my parents this past weekend and something I really wanted to do was to take Scarlet on a walk to Steilacoom park. In high school I was on the XC team and we would practice and have meets at the park. It holds a special place with me so I was excited to share it with Scarlet.
Scarlet's never actually seen a real duck before. She knows what they look like in books and her bathtub is a duckie, but never has she seen a live duck. I was looking forward to hearing her typical squeal whenever she sees an animal she likes (it's so funny!). She didn't squeal though. I think she was too busy figuring out what they were but I would let her down to walk and she would run right for them.
We saw some baby ducks sitting with their momma.

She loves walking! She's getting to the age where she wants to walk without holding my hand. So very independent!

SuperRockStar!

Gramma Vicki gave Scarlet this great play guitar. She loves to pick it up and put the strap over her neck and walk around with it. Charlie loves playing rockband and she sees him play the guitar all the time. She used to try and grab at them while he was playing but since my mom got her her own she plays with hers now instead.

Drama Queen

My sweet little baby girl has recently discovered fits. When she doesn't get what she wants she immediately starts flailing her arms and bouncing up and down. She looks like she's in pain here but it was all because I wouldn't give her the camera. :)
It was funny the first few times she did it but now it's exhausting!

Foo Fightin'!

Charlie, me, Len, Mike, and Sonny went to the Foo Fighter's concert last night. Charlie and I had GA tickets so we were on the floor. It was so AWESOME!!!! Dave Grohl is amazing!
There was a stage set up so the band members could walk across and we were right there, not quite close enough to touch but close enough. The drummer cracked me up the whole time. He has this huge toothy white grin the entire time he's playing, it was pretty funny. I've never seen anything like him either; a phenomenal drummer!
Dave Grohl was impressive too. His screaming was even on key. :) It was so awesome.
Charlie and I keep asking each other how our hearing is doing. It felt like you were under water after the concert was over. It still feels a little funny. I have to admit though, I did plug my ears for a little while. It was so much fun! I can't wait to go to more concerts!
We didn't bring extra batteries and of course they ended up dying so we only have a few shots of the concert. Big bummer. Live and learn, right?

Independence Day!

It was a beautiful 4th of July this year. We spent the day at Charlie's Gramma Doris' house on Lake Chelan. I've only been there once before and had forgotten how awesome it was. The water was so clean and clear and the view was spectacular!
Scarlet had lots of fun too. She loved Jock, the dog, and had lots of fun exploring the home. I was so busy having fun that I actually didn't take too many pictures and only a few of Scarlet. Her eyes are slightly closed but she still looks pretty cute. She was caught trying to go up the stairs. I love her guilty face she makes whenever she knows she's done something she shouldn't. Pretty funny.
This is the coolest picture! We all decided to jump off the deck together. I asked Sonny to jump to the side a little because I was afraid I would crush him or get a foot in the face, he ended up getting cut from the shot. Looks like he has a pretty nice cannonball going on, it would have been awesome if he wasn't cut out. Anyway, there's me and Charlie, Len his dad, and Michael his other brother. Lake Chelan is comprised of glacier water which is why it is so beautiful but it is also FREEZING! No matter, it was still lots of fun!
First fruits of my labor, small but tasty. I've been waiting for something in my garden to grow enough to harvest anything. It's been a lot of work trying to figure out how to garden, but definitively worth it!
The BBQ we got for our birthdays! Ahhhhh, it smells so good!! Who doesn't love the smell of BBQ?
"Secrets in the sauce" .............you know.

Swimming Pool Fun!

Last year, while I was in the hospital with Scarlet and first started looking at other people's
blogs, I got a little depressed because everyone looked like they were having so much summer time fun and I was stuck in the hospital with a sick baby and wondering if we would ever get to have fun together too. I only add this because as you can see, we got ourselves a pool and Scarlet some swimming stuff and we are ready for our fun summer!
I found this great floatie at Wal-Mart. I love that it has a shade so Scarlet can have some extra sun protection. The pool is great too. It's about 2 1/2 ft deep and 10ft circum. so Charlie and I can get in and putter around with her. It also has a filter and we bought some chlorine tabs to keep the water clean enough for her to be able to swim in it.
She didn't like the water at first and I can't really blame her because it was freezing cold! But after awhile of bobbing up and down and being passed from me to Charlie she started to really like it and would actually sit in her turtle.
Here she is with her Uncle Sonny. He is so good to her, he'll be a great dad someday. Whenever he comes over to watch her for me he actually plays with her. :) I would expect most teenagers to let her do whatever and watch TV or something.
This shot is from the other night, me, Sonny, and Charlie all got in the pool and played water UNO. I would post a picture of all of us in there but I was not lookin' cute and so this is all you get. :)
